Temperature Checks Will Only Be Taken At The Entrance Of Shopping Malls From Now On

If you’re visiting a shopping mall after this, you’re no longer required to have your temperature checked at every shop you enter!

According to the Malay Mail, Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that shops in shopping malls are no longer required to take the temperatures of customers who enter their premises.

“This will only be done once at entry points. So they don’t have to keep on doing this over and over again at every shop they enter,” he said.

He added that shops will still have to take down customers’ names and contact information to enable contact tracing. “This is so we can trace those who have been around a COVID-19 positive patient and trach their movement,” he added.

The same SOPs will also apply to hotels. Customers will only need to go through the temperature screening once and then they can go into different premises or restaurants and give their details there.

The details will then be recorded manually or through the MySejahtera app.

Stay safe, and do stay home if you’re not feeling well.
