Most school students would’ve probably dreaded to go back to classes after the Movement Control Order (MCO), but these kids at a primary school in Kelantan may not say the same.

These students at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Tumpat 2 had an unexpected welcome back to school, after their teacher, Syahril Faiza Zakaria, went out of his way to redecorate their classroom.

According to the Malay Mail, he spent RM1,000 of his own personal savings, to not only clean up the classroom, but to also add new information to the class notice boards, as well as set up a little learning corner.

46-year-old Syahril said, “I wanted my students to be filled with joy just as they were before the MCO was put in place and that was why I had to decorate the classroom.

“A decorated classroom is definitely more cosy and welcoming and students would be attracted to come to school after their long break from the MCO,” he added.

It’s understood that Syahril took a month to finish his little project.

He also stressed on how important it is that teachers need to make it conducive for their students, so that they can learn in a positive environment.

Syahril isn’t the only teacher at SK Sri Tumpat 2 to go the extra mile for his students - his colleague Arshad Peyza had also taken the initiative to brighten up his classroom.

How cute!
