Study Finds KL Residents Among The Most Overworked In The World

study finds kl residents among the most overworked in the world

Did you know that those working in Kuala Lumpur are reported to be among those who have the longest working hours and spend more time commuting to work than people in other cities around the world?

A US study has ranked our capital city the fourth highest for the five cities most burdened with work.

It seems Hong Kong is the most burdened city with work followed by Singapore in second, Seoul, South Korea in third and Tokyo, Japan in fifth place after KL.

The study also revealed that KL is ranked 47th out of the 50 best metropolitan cities for employment balance.

In the same study last year, Kuala Lumpur was ranked 40th in terms of balance in employment.

Singapore and Bangkok, Thailand are ranked 41st and 43rd respectively.

The study isn’t meant to show the capabilities of a city or highlight the best cities to work, but rather an indication of a city's ability to provide work-life balance.

With that, the five cities that were in the most balanced position in employment were Oslo, Norway; Helsinki, Finland; Copenhagen, Denmark; Hamburg and Berlin, Germany.

Being overworked is probably something you think about often…

And now, you have statistics to back you up!
