As of yesterday (March 22nd), 1,116 new COVID-19 cases were recorded by the Health Ministry (MOH), bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 14,134.
According to the Malay Mail, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah revealed that five more people died from the virus which brings the death toll in the country to 1,238, while 1,495 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours.
He said in a statement: “Selangor reported the highest daily cases today at 403 cases (36.1%), of this number 337 cases (83.6%) are from existing clusters and COVID-19 close contact screenings conducted.”

Selangor was followed by Kuala Lumpur with 158 cases, Sarawak with 124 cases, Penang with 88 cases and Johor with 86 cases.
