KL Sentral is our main transfer hub, as we all know. Is there anyone who has never passed that busy, busy station?

Despite the convenience, commuters will know just how crowded it can get. To make things easier, there is now a link bridge connecting the Pasar Seni LRT station and the Kuala Lumpur KTM station! Passengers can easily transfer lines, making commuting way less of a hassle.

The 102m-long pedestrian bridge opened last Friday (November 8th 2019) after over two years of construction. The walkway is sheltered and fitted with a 50m long bi-directional travelator - works great for the differently-abled and lazy folks.

Taman Tugu Negara and Masjid Negara are now much closer thanks to the bridge, so there is now no excuse not to visit these beautiful landmarks!

The project started in April 2016 as part of the requirements for the Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) MRT line, according to The Star. Built by Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) under the SBK group, the job was done by MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (PDP) Sdn Bhd, with Trans Resources Corp Sdn Bhd as the main contractor.

The Star said that MRT Corp CEO Abdul Yazid Kassim hoped the new bridge would help to increase public transport users.

“Seamless connectivity is an important element in public transportation, and without it, people will lose interest in using the service. The bridge is also designed in such a way that it will enable ticketing integration between the MRT/LRT systems with the Komuter system in future. We hope that this last mile barrier in terms of fare integration will be solved one day, ” he said.

Will you be checking out this bridge anytime soon?
