Deepavali is just around the corner (November 14th), but while celebrations can continue, ALL COVID-19 SOPs still apply!

The two-person-per-car ruling in Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) areas will continue to be enforced for Deepavali.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said even though family gatherings of up to 20 people are allowed for the upcoming festive period, cars will still be limited to just two occupants.

Inter-district and inter-state travel also remain prohibited during the CMCO, so there’ll be no travelling around to visit friends and family, unfortunately, unless they live in the same district as you.

And please be reminded that police will be patrolling neighbourhoods over Deepavali to make sure that gatherings are SOP-compliant, similar to what was practised during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri period.

In case you missed it, here’s the full SOP for Deepavali celebrations this year.

Stay safe, people!
