Is today (4 May) the day that Malaysians have been waiting for? To finally be able to get out of the house and start a normal working routine again?
After staying at home for more than 40 days, we would expect that Malaysians would be jumping for joy that the government is slowly lifting the Movement Control Order (MCO), but that’s just not the case.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that the country will be loosening the MCO on Friday (1 May) just a few days after phase 4 started, with some restrictions still in place, and Malaysians are not entirely happy with the idea.
Many have decided to voice their opinions on social media, especially on Twitter, now that the government is loosening the MCO despite the number of positive cases that are slowly rising again.
“With Raya coming, this could lead to a huge problem. Once lifted, there’s no going back to another MCO”
“This conditional MCO is too good to be true. Who’s gonna pay the price if the whole thing relapses?”
If you start work today, please take care of yourself, especially if you’re using public transportations! Keep your hands clean and practice social distancing, okay?
