Old Bomb Believed To Be From WWII Found In Kepong, Police Confirms It’s Inactive

Recently, construction workers in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur discovered an explosive inside a drain, by the roadside on Monday (May 30th).

According to a police statement made by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in Sentul, they received calls from the public regarding the discovery of the old bomb.

The Bomb Disposal Unit then rushed to Taman Pusat Kepong where the explosive was discovered. 

The device was found to be no longer active nor dangerous. They also verified that the bomb is known as the Bom Mortar Practice 40 MM, which was routinely used in military practices, believed to be from the World War II period. 

The bomb was then brought to the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters for further action.

Police in KL has urged the public to not make speculations about the discovery that could cause panic.
