Looks like most Malaysians who are celebrating Ramadan next week, won’t be able to balik kampung to celebrate it this year.
It’s okay, there’s always next year, right?
In a televised speech, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob stressed that crossing state borders continues to be forbidden as long as the Movement Control Order is in place. “Movements in large groups to return to their home villages is forbidden,” he said.
The issue was brought up after more people seemed to appear to be on the roads now than before.
Meanwhile, all Ramadan bazaar activities including the planned e-Bazaar will be prohibited nationwide for the duration of the MCO. This includes drive-thru and order & collect, with the reason being that any bazaar, regardless of its alternative, may post a risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.
So, Malaysians, please continue to abide by the MCO restrictions. Stay at home, and stay safe everyone!
