We know the feeling of being terrified and nervous to have a JPJ officer sitting next to us during a driving test!
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) recently announced a new system to be implemented by June 2020 at all driving schools nationwide.

According to Sinar Harian, they plan to launch an automated driving test or e-testing system this year, which means that JPJ officers will no longer be sitting in the car next to the candidate during a driving test.
JPJ director-general, Datuk Seri Shaharuddin Khalid said that tests would be assessed remotely. Candidates still have to go through the normal circuit, however, the examiner will no longer be in the car and will monitor the test from a control room at the driving institute - even your test results will be computer-generated!
JPJ officers will know instantly if a candidate bumps into a pole or commits any mistakes and traffic offences. This initiative is to lessen human-to-human interaction and increase the integrity of the department.
According to The Star, the ‘Ujian Kurikulum Pendidikan Pemandu’ (KPP01 Test) and other JPJ table tests are also quickly shifting towards being fully computerized.
The e-system is currently still being tested out at several driving institutes in Johor as a pilot project.
A total of 122 driving institutes in Malaysia have applied to open computerized examination centres on their premises.
Looks like candidates can now relax and actually focus on their driving with this new e-testing system!
