In a statement, Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abd Hamid said that the man was angered when he was stopped from raping his 24-year-old stepdaughter at the family home.
“Further investigation found that the suspect is a 42-year-old Nigerian who attempted to rape one of his stepchildren who was sleeping in the living room but was stopped by his wife and kids aged between 19 and 29 years old.
“Angered at his stepfamily, the suspect began hitting all members of the family,” he added.
His 49-year-old wife and four other children, attempting to save themselves, shouted for help then left the house to seek help from their neighbours and security guards: “Seeing the attempt, the suspect grabbed his 4-year-old stepgrandson and hurled the child out the window of the apartment. The suspect then jumped out the same window.”
The suspect, however, was not hurt and was caught by the members of the public before turning him in, to the authorities.
According to BERNAMA, the suspect was brought to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) and will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
