A trader in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan was slapped with a RM1,000 fine, after authorities found he was providing customers with his own “hand sanitiser” - floor cleaner!

In an operation on Sunday, police were rounding the district making sure the public was complying with coronavirus SOPs amid the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

Jempol acting police chief DSP Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor revealed that the trader claimed that floor cleaner can kill more germs than hand sanitiser, and it was also a cheaper option.

“This action is completely unacceptable as it can cause problems to the people who use it," he said.

Hafiz added that police had given out four more compounds in the same operation.

“Among the other offences detected were not wearing face masks, not registering customers who walk in, not preparing a customer registration logbook, and not limiting the number of customers going into the premises.”

Looks like we’ll have to start checking twice when we’re out in public.
