When you hear of minibuses, you will probably think of the olden days - the kind where your parents would start a story with “back in my day…”
You can now say the same to your children. Rapid KL previously had a trial run for the minibuses from Bukit Indah to Ampang Point from 1st September to 29th November (a good 21 years after stopping the service!) and they will be bringing it back.

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) and RapidKL made an alliance with bus companies to expand the minibus service, which, according to Transport Minister Anthony Loke, was well-accepted by the public. According to The Sun Daily, he said there was an average of 1, 200 users which increased to an average of 1, 800 per day on the Ampang Point to Bukit Indah route.
He pointed out that a smaller bus would make it easier to enter residential areas, which would help speed up the duration of one trip.

“Rapid KL has done research and most of the passengers are satisfied with the minibus service and are supportive, so this has given us an indication that the minibus is popular because it is faster and saves time,” he also added.
Beginning this month until January 2020, the minibuses will be on a trial run for the T784 LRT Taman Bahagia route as well as the T201 LRT Gombak route. Able to fit up to 30 pax, the best part about this facility is that it is also disabled-friendly, making it a lot more accessible to those who really need it.
Will you be trying one of the minibuses out soon?
