Man With Pink Wristband, No Face Mask Spotted At A Petrol Station In Bentong

Police are now investigating a viral photo of a man who was spotted wearing the KKM pink quarantine wristband and not wearing a face mask at a petrol station in Bentong. 

According to NST, district police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said that images of the 25-year-old man who was refuelling his vehicle at the petrol station went viral on Wednesday (June 23rd).

“Investigations revealed that the man was travelling to the district health office to remove his pink wristband when his vehicle ran out of fuel. 

“He had gone to the petrol station to refuel and continue his journey and some passersby who were at the premises had spotted him without a face mask. His photos then went viral on social media at around 2 pm on Wednesday,” he added. 

A report has been lodged and police are gathering more information on the incident. 

Investigations are being conducted according to Section 269 of the Penal Code and Regulation 17 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021. 

We hope that it’s true that the man was about to take his wristband off!
