Suicide ideation is an incredibly dark place to be in. No one should ever have to go through it alone.
Unfortunately, one man in Balik Pulau took it upon himself to end his life by jumping from the 24th floor of a hotel at Teluk Kumbar on Monday at around 6.30p.m.
One extremely selfless thing he did before he jumped, however, was to leave a note behind. It wasn’t your regular suicide note - this one indicated his intetion to donate his organs.
According to Southwest district OCPD Supt A. Anbalagan, the 30 year old man had landed in a swimming pool on the eighth floor of the hotel.
He was rescued by hotel staff and was still alive at that point, but was pronounced dead when he was rushed to the Balik Pulau Hospital.
"The deceased was actually not a guest of the hotel but came to the hotel with intention to kill himself, however we are still conducting further investigation," Supt A. Anbalagan added.
He also said that investigators found a note near the scene stating the intention of the deceased to donate his organs along with the contact numbers of his siblings.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
