This as police arrested almost 780 people yesterday, for breaching several RMCO rules.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakob says 670 of them were issued compounds, which is the highest since the RMCO came into force.
Most of those arrested were caught at nightclubs and pubs.
Datuk Seri Ismail wants local authorities to work with the police to shut down nightclubs and pubs, as they are not supposed to be open during the RMCO.
He adds that harsher action needs to be taken, due to the high number of arrests.
Also, Datuk Seri Ismail has announced that the Enhanced MCO in Amanjaya, Kedah will be enforced until September 10th.
Amanjaya was placed under an EMCO since August 28th.
Elsewhere he also confirmed that all long-term pass holders from India, Indonesia, and the Philippines will no longer be allowed to enter Malaysia, because of a spike in COVID-19 cases in these countries.
It will come into effect from September 7th until further notice.
The new ruling will affect permanent residents, expatriates, those involved in the Malaysia My Second Home program, spousal visa holders, and foreign students.
This, as the government tasked the Health Ministry with formulating a comprehensive plan, to deal with a possible surge in COVID-19 infections due to the coming winter season in several parts of the world.
This may include barring visitors from these countries from entering Malaysia.
The Ministry also needs to decide on what to do with Malaysians who want to return home from these cold countries.
