Malaysia recorded 17,045 new cases on Sunday (July 25th), the highest number of daily cases since the pandemic began.

Kuala Lumpur and Selangor collectively recorded more than 10,500 cases, while Kedah set its own record high recording 1,216 new COVID-19 cases.
This brings the current total of active cases in the country to 160,903.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the number of new COVID-19 cases bring Malaysia’s cumulative total to 1,013,438 surpassing the 1-million mark.
92 people died from COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total number of deaths from the disease to 7,994 while 970 COVID-19 patients are in critical care with 501 needing to be incubated.
However, 9,683 people have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 844,541.
