Malaysia has the capability to produce its first COVID-19 vaccine by mobilising scientists with the relevant expertise in the field of public health.

According to NST, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba said the production of COVID-19 vaccines was extremely crucial in achieving herd immunity.
“The production of the country’s first vaccine is very important.
“We must boldly move forward because we have scientists who can be mobilised to make breakthroughs in innovation and scientific discoveries,” he told reporters.
Dr. Adham also planned to form bilateral arrangements with other countries that have successfully produced COVID-19 vaccines including China, India and Thailand.
The Tenggara member of parliament also said he would visit a CanSino vaccine fill-and-finish factory in Kuala Lumpur on Monday (August 30th).
