Weather officials are not expecting the current flood situation especially in the east coast to be as bad as the floods which had hit the states in previous years.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department says it is only predicting normal floods like those that happen every year.
The North-east Monsoon situation which caused floods in several states in the Peninsular Malaysia is forecast to end in the middle or the third week of this month.
The MET Department is expecting weather conditions to improve in Johor and Pahang within this week, while Kelantan and Terengganu are predicted to still experience rain in the morning and evening.
Meanwhile, the flooding in Perak, Selangor, Kelantan, Terengganu and Johor is improving as more evacuees are returning home.
However, Pahang saw a slight increase in the number of flood victims with more than 18,000 people displaced, compared to about 17,000 earlier.
And if you live in a flood-prone area, remember to always be vigilant and abide by the instructions of the authorities throughout the flood season to avoid untoward incidents.
