A lorry driver was stabbed to death by his friend, who he was hanging out with at the Taman Desa Jawi flat in Penang on Monday (June 14th).
According to BERNAMA, Seberang Perai Selatan district police chief, Supt Lee Chong Chern said that police were informed of the incident at 4:05 am after a woman called in to inform that the deceased, who was her neighbour, was assaulted by her husband.

“Upon arriving at the second floor of the flat, police found the victim, known as A. Harinnderaruban, who had been stabbed and died at 7:15 am while receiving treatment at the Sungai Buloh Bakap Hospital,” he said.
Lee said that there were seven stab wounds on the victim’s body and police also found the knife that was allegedly used by the suspect.
Further investigations found that the incident happened at 3:45 am when the victim and his 27-year-old friend were drinking outside the suspect’s home, when they both got drunk and started making noise.
When the wife told her husband to stop making noise, he became angry and was physically abusive.
It was believed that the victim was trying to stop his friend from beating his wife, when he was stabbed.
Police have detained the man who works as an oil palm collector to assist with the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
