Police arrested a lorry driver who tested positive for drugs after the vehicle he was driving collided with five vehicles in an accident on Jalan Ipoh, yesterday (September 6th).
KL Traffic Investigation and Enforcement ACP Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the lorry, driven by the 25-year-old suspect, was heading towards Sentul from Jalan Duta before colliding with the five other vehicles waiting at the traffic light.
The vehicles involved were a yellow Myvi, a Proton X70, a Honda HRV, a Peugeot 208 FL and a white Myvi.
The accident caused the yellow Myvi to be badly crushed while the other vehicles were also damaged.
“The driver of the Myvi suffered only minor injuries to the face and received treatment at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) Green Zone while the other drivers did not suffer any injuries and were allowed to return home,” he said in a statement.
Sarifudin said the initial test found that the suspect was not under the influence of alcohol but his urine test was positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 44 (1A) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
