The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 2,875 new COVID-19 cases on yesterday (April 23rd), with Kelantan recording the highest number at 662 new cases.
The spread of infections also worsened in Selangor with 633 new cases while Sarawak reported 474 and Kuala Lumpur 332 cases.
Meanwhile, seven COVID-19 related deaths were reported, bringing Malaysia’s death toll to 1,407.
The Health director-general Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that three of the new deaths were reported in Sabah, while two were from Selangor and one each from Sarawak and Kelantan.
The total number of active clusters in the country currently is 352.
It’s still a long way to go until we’re free from COVID-19, so remember to always follow SOPs, wear a face mask and maintain physical distancing when you’re in public.
