If You Think The Police Were Just Kidding, They’re Not!

We’ve all been reminded of the Hari Raya visitation SOPs so many times - that we are not allowed to visit anyone after the first day of Hari Raya, and that the police will be doing random spot-checks to make sure that we abide by the SOPs.

But apparently, the warnings still fell on deaf ears, as many Malaysians were caught violating the no Hari Raya visitations after the first-day rule.

Six friends were about to enjoy their Hari Raya celebrations together when they were fined by the police for violating the SOPs.

According to Penang Kini, the friends, consisting of five girls and a guy, were visiting their friends in Kepala Batas when police did a surprise check at around 3.45PM, and all of them including the owner of the house, were fined RM1,000.

The police will no longer give out warnings, said Seberang Perai Utara Chief Police, Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor. “But instead, the police will give out compounds or arrest those who are stubborn and still violate the Conditional Movement Control Order.”

He also added that there had been 101 compounds issued for various offenses during Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which includes interstate travel and visitations after the first day of Hari Raya.

Remember guys, we are still in the MCO period which means we’re all supposed to STAY AT HOME unless you have to go to work, or you need to go get groceries or any other essential reasons that requires you to leave the house.

So, visiting your friends ARE NOT ALLOWED!
