If your road tax has expired, don’t worry about it! For now…
In case you missed it, road tax renewals for private vehicles have been suspended at post offices nationwide until March 31st.
You can still drive around, so as long as you have a copy of a valid insurance certificate (e-cover note) with you whenever you’re out driving.
In an official statement, Pos Malaysia said this was under instruction from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) vehicle owners have been given an exemption from renewing road tax during the Movement Control Order (MCO) as long as the vehicle is insured.
However, all other services, including driving licence and vehicle insurance renewals, are still available at all post offices nationwide.
Pos Malaysia added that Malaysians can reach out to them via AskPos at
www.pos.com.my or through the Pos Malaysia mobile app.
So just make sure you’ve at least paid for your vehicle insurance, and have some form of the cover note with you when driving.
Drive safe and stay safe, guys!
