In connection with the recent solo protest held by a UM student at his convocation ceremony, someone has hacked into the varsity’s e-payment site.

Instead of the usual home page, visitors to the site are greeted with a poster bearing these words:

Biar Mati Dari Hidup Melutut.
I would rather die standing than live kneeling.
If my words threaten those in power, so be it.
If my pictures alarm the people, that is good.
Your teeth come down, my sword goes up.
#NoRasis #UndurVc #University of Malaya

Coincidentally, these were the same words he shared on his own Facebook page on 15th October, in which he tagged Universiti Malaya and told them “mark my words”.

One Twitter account also seems to have been created solely for the purpose of spreading the news about the hacking. The account, which follows only the Universiti Malaya and Universiti of Malaya Library Twitter accounts, bears only three tweets, all warning of the hack.

Wong Yan Ke, on his end, just released a statement on his Facebook page saying he only just heard about the incident and wanted to clarify that he had nothing to do with it. “I know nothing about computer science. And, I didn't order anyone to do this on behalf of me,” he said.
