According to NST, the five affected areas are Kampung Skim Pamalan in Keningau, Kampung Jaya Baru in Kunak, Taman Wijaya Park in Kota Kinabalu, Kampung Serudung Baru in Tawau and Ladang Brumas in Kalabakan.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said in a statement that out of 339 people being screened, 30 of them tested positive for COVID-19, with an 8.84 positivity rate.
At Kampung Jaya Baru, the Health Ministry (MOH) detected 20 cases so far, while at Taman Wijaya Park, 12 were found positive for the virus, while 10 cases with a 26.32 positivity rate were detected at Kampung Serudung Baru.
Ladang Brumas had nine cases with a 20.45 positivity rate.
For those who don’t know, the positivity rate is a measurement of how adequately we are doing the COVID-19 testing, that also helps the authorities to understand the spread of the virus by using the date on confirmed cases. The positivity rate also assists the government in properly monitoring and controlling the spread of the virus, which means the area with more widespread outbreaks will need to do more testing!

The government will enforce the EMCO at all these locations until July 5th, to enable authorities to control the outbreak while ensuring that people would stay put in their localities.
We hope that everyone is okay… Stay at home and stay safe!
