Let’s face it; parents don’t like seeing their kids glued to their phone screens, and it’s pretty common to see parents scolding their kids because of it.

But things got a little bit too heated for this father and son in Negeri Sembilan this morning (November 18th).

A 59-year-old man in Jelebu was stabbed to death at his home by his 35-year-old son, after he had scolded him for always being on his phone.

District police chief DSP Maslan Udin told Berita Harian the victim died at the scene after being stabbed in the front and back of his body.

Maslan also pointed out that it was the victim who had assaulted the suspect first.

“The victim is believed to have hit the suspect on the back with a plastic chair before the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife," he said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim’s mother, who lives in the same house, was not home when the argument broke out.

And it’s understood that the suspect fled the scene after stabbing the victim, but was arrested just 20 minutes later, as soon as the incident was reported to the police by neighbours.

They explained that the pair had argued often, but didn’t expect this time to end in death.

Investigations are underway, and the suspect is expected to be remanded tomorrow (November 19th).
