Malaysia has done well in containing the spread of Covid-19 but that doesn’t mean we should be complacent in preventing ourselves from being infected by the deadly virus.

As Malaysia continues to show improvement in handling the Covid-19 crisis, Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, has reminded people to always stay alert.

“I want to remind everyone that we should never be complacent. Singapore is facing a more severe situation than us,” he said during a press conference at the ministry yesterday.

Dzulkefly also said that a joint working group to tackle the spread of the virus has already been set up with Singapore.

“We will continue discussing several issues. The people must continue maintaining personal hygiene and not take for granted the importance of washing and sanitizing their hands, ” Dzulkefly added.

“If you have symptoms such as flu, fever or shortness of breath, please seek medical help.”

Based on the latest report by the Health Ministry, two more Covid-19 patients have recovered and since been discharged, bringing the total number of recovered patients in the country to 15.

With no new cases, the total confirmed cases in Malaysia remain at 22 cases with only 7 Covid-19 cases still being treated in hospitals.

Dzulkefly also launched the “Virtual Health Advisory”, an online platform created to disseminate information and reduce public misinformation on Covid-19.

The portal is set up by the ministry and the digital telemedicine platform, DoctorOnCall.

The public will be able to search verified and credible written articles about Covid-19, take self-assessment tests, as well as chat with doctors to clarify their symptoms.

The portal is acessible via www.moh.gov.my. or www.doctoroncall.my/coronavirus.
