Yan District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Shahnaz Akhtar Haji said that investigations found that both of them failed to show legal cross-state documents.
The couple admitted that they had violated the Movement Control Order (MCO) SOPs and told authorities that they were only out to go jalan-jalan.
They were then detained by police and taken to the Kuala Muda District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further action and were given a compound of RM5,000 each under Regulation 4 (1) of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Regulations (PPDPPB) (No 2) 2021.
