If you’re planning to travel interstate or inter-district, then it’s best that you voluntarily undergo a COVID-19 screening, especially if you’re leaving a red zone.
During his daily press briefing yesterday (January 5th), Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said it is not compulsory, but you could consider doing a swab test three days prior to your travel.
“For example, individuals who plan to leave KL, a red zone, for Pahang, they could go for screening three days before the trip, while those coming back from a red zone could also undergo a similar test.”
He shared this advice after restrictions on interstate travel were lifted on December 7th, which contributed to a rise in COVID-19 cases.
The Health Ministry (MOH) has so far linked five new clusters to inter-district and interstate travel after the activity was allowed to resume.
Despite the emergence of these clusters, the government said there are no plans to reintroduce travel restrictions, adding that the MOH is still analysing the situation.
Well, if you don't intend to get a test done, then the next best thing you can do in the fight against COVID-19 is to STAY AT HOME!
