As restrictions and guidelines under the various versions of the Movement Control Order (MCO) continue to change, the government has now allowed social events to be held again amid the return of the Conditional MCO (CMCO) and Recovery MCO (RMCO) in most states.

During his daily press briefing yesterday (March 2nd), Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said these include official and unofficial events, organised by the government or private sector.
“The social events include wedding receptions, engagement ceremonies, birthday celebrations, reunions, retreats and others. For wedding receptions, it is extended to non-Muslims couples as well,” he explained.
Outdoor weddings are also allowed, but there must be compliance with COVID-19 SOPs, especially physical distancing.
Ismail added premises in CMCO areas could have 50 percent of patrons based on its capacity, while premises in RMCO areas could have the number of patrons based on the size of the premises, after taking into consideration the requirement for physical distancing.
This all sounds great but how bout we just avoid having any major social gatherings for now yeah, guys?
