Melaka state executive councilor, Akmal Saleh said he received a message on Facebook asking for help about a sexual harassment incident.
“This morning at dawn, I received a message on Facebook from a friend regarding an incident that occurred to an acquaintance while returning to Melaka.
“The victim could only cry because she was too frightened to scream for help. So, my friends and I wanted in Melaka to help this girl,” he told BERNAMA.
Police detained the suspect when the bus arrived at the Melaka Sentral bus terminal a few hours later around 10:30 am. Preliminary investigations found that the suspect is from Kota Tinggi, Johor, and was the bus’ second driver that morning.
The suspect was handed over to the Hulu Terengganu district police headquarters, while the victim had filed a formal police report at Melaka Sentral.
