203 Arrested At Entertainment Joints For MCO Violations

Going out “clubbing” has formed the highest number of violations of the MCO recorded on Saturday (9 January), with 203 people arrested.

According to The Star, Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said a total of 528 individuals were arrested while three were remanded for various offences.

“Among the violations committed were for nightclub activities (203), including not wearing a facemask (149), failing to provide devices for recording of customers’ details (101), failing to comply with physical distancing (73), and others,” he said.

Ismail Sabri also said the compliance operations task force led by police had conducted 31,155 checks to monitor and enforce the SOPs.

The checks were carried out at supermarkets, restaurants, factories, banks, and government offices, among others.
