“Only RM3!” Woman Shares Her Experience Booking Dental Appointment Through The MySejahtera App

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has introduced a convenient solution to reduce waiting time and overcrowding at government hospitals and clinics in Malaysia. By transforming the MySejahtera app into a booking platform, Malaysians can now schedule their appointments seamlessly.

One Twitter user, @alenawhz, recently shared her positive experience with the app's booking service. She decided to try it out for a dental appointment and was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of the process.

Alena managed to secure an appointment at her nearest health clinic, Klinik Kesihatan Seremban 2, after booking ahead of time on Wednesday, 7 June. The best part was that her complete scaling and general dental check-up only cost her RM3.

Alena kindly provided a step-by-step guide on how to book an appointment using the MySejahtera app:

  1. Open the app and click on the 'Appointments' button located on the homepage. Scroll down until you find 'Dental Check-Up' and tap on it.

  2. Enter your postcode in the designated space and tap 'Search.' The app will display the available clinics in your area. Choose your preferred clinic and select a date and time for your appointment in the upcoming week.

Alena advised, "If you don't see any available slots, be patient and check back in a couple of hours. Based on my experience, 12 am seems to be the time when they refresh the available time slots!"

  1. Once you have secured your appointment, ensure that you arrive at the clinic 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Upon arrival, use MySejahtera to check in at the registration counter.

Alena mentioned that she paid a nominal fee of RM1 for registration, had her blood pressure checked, and received a queue number to wait for her turn.

  1. The dentist on duty will attend to you. Alena shared that she only had to wait approximately 15 minutes before her number was called. Inside the dental room, she discussed her interest in a general check-up and scaling with the dentist, who agreed that it was necessary and promptly initiated the treatment.

"The dentist, Dr. Liyana, and her assistant were very friendly and reassuring throughout the entire process. Before I knew it, it was all done within 10 minutes," expressed the satisfied patient.

Alena concluded that the entire process, from registration to leaving the dental room, took her around 30 minutes. She acknowledged that the clinic was not crowded on the day of her appointment, which contributed to the minimal waiting time, despite having scheduled an appointment.

While Alena found the cost of her treatment to be incredibly affordable, with an additional RM2 for the scaling procedure, she also highlighted the convenience of making payments through a debit card.

"I'm sharing my experience so that more people can become aware of this MySejahtera feature, which undoubtedly makes life easier," she stated.

As a disclaimer, Alena advised that if individuals are unable to locate their nearest clinic on the app or are experiencing tooth pain, they should contact their clinics directly to inquire about immediate walk-in availability.

This firsthand account of utilizing the MySejahtera app for a dental appointment highlights the benefits of this booking system. By streamlining the process and minimizing waiting times, the app enhances efficiency and convenience for patients.

Such accessibility encourages individuals to prioritize regular dental check-ups, which are essential for maintaining oral health. Through the MySejahtera app, Malaysians can now easily book appointments, ensuring timely access to healthcare services and promoting overall well-being.
