With the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia and the never ending work-from-home situation has resulted in increased pressure on the mental and physical well being of Malaysians.
Recognizing this as also having an adverse impact on their team, m/SIX embarked on Heart & Sole – an initiative to get their team walking while raising funds for single mothers to alleviate the economic pressures faced by them during these challenging times.
The mechanics were simple – they got their colleagues, friends and family members to pledge RM10 for every kilometer that they walked, and the results were amazing!
With the support of their clients and partners, m/SIX GroupM successfully raised RM35,340 and collectively walked 3,534 kilometers and distributed 300 care packages which included food and hygiene items to needy single moms.
The items were distributed in collaboration with Malaysian Relief Agency and Yayasan Chow Kit.
In addition to the distribution of care packs, m/SIX also organized a talk on Resilience Amidst Change, by licensed psychologist John Pinto from Thougthfull and brought in fitness expert, Kimberly Marshall from F45 Damansara Heights to speak to the GroupM team, giving them tips and tricks on how to navigate the mental and physical challenges that we are all going through.
Managing Director of m/SIX Malaysia, Sheila Shanmugam said: “Our team’s mental and physical well being is our key priority during these trying times. This initiative was a fun and meaningful way to also contribute back to a cause that m/SIX has been championing for the last 3 years.
"We would also like to give a heartful thanks to our partners who supported in making this a success – Sunquick, AOS, Unity Media, Artalive, M&CSaatchi, Grey, RCA and of course Yayasan Chow Kit, Malaysian Relief Agency and Pak Grocer," she added.
Wah, what a great initiative!
