Podcast enthusiasts in Malaysia and their inspirational stories were recognised at the 'Anugerah Podcast SYOK 2023' held on December 8, 2023, at the AICB Centre of Excellence (ACE) in Kuala Lumpur.
The winners were selected through a public vote by Malaysians for their favorite podcasts via the official SYOK website from November 30 to December 4, 2023.
The winners of the 'Anugerah Podcast SYOK 2023' for the five main categories and two special categories encompassing various languages including Malay, English, Chinese, and Tamil are as follows:
Additionally, the SYOK Tamil Podcast 'RAAGAvil Marma Desam' received the Malaysia Book of Records award for the 'Most Tamil Horror Podcast Downloaded In A Year,' with a total of 5,598,484 downloads on the local podcast platform.
Winners were evaluated based on authenticity, uniqueness, storytelling, audience size, and other criteria established during the nomination process. Malaysians determined the winners for all five main categories and two special categories, which also underwent assessment by professional juries.
In addition to the award ceremony, the 'Anugerah Podcast SYOK 2023' event also featured the 'SYOK Talk' seminar in the afternoon.
The seminar discussed podcast-related topics and included representatives from the podcast industry, such as 'Producing Podcasts' by Haiqal and Syafa (Thinker Studio) and Hakimi (SYOK); 'Storytelling in Podcasts' by Sudirman Tahir, Gheeta, and Yasmin (podcasters); 'Audio Editing' by Andrew (Astro Radio) and 'Santosh Logandran' (Composer); and 'Advertising in Podcasts' by Priya Dharshini (Astro Radio) and Stanley Lim (SYOK).
