#1 DIY
DIY is something fun and easy to do when you’re bored, and don’t want to spend too much money on it.
Buy a book on DIY or look it up on the internet… start on anything that needs fixing around your house, make your own clothes or give your friends self-made presents. You’ll even learn some new skills while improving your home!
#2 Gardening
Gardening can be fulfilling and therapeutic, as well as entertaining.
Buy a few cheap packets of seeds, and see what you can grow! Don’t know where to start? You can find lots of gardening tips online.
#3 Try drawing
Drawing is actually not very hard…
It’s an enjoyable way of expressing yourself and there are lots of different ways to draw, from painting to sketching, to doodling, so choose one you are comfortable with and give it a go!
#4 Reading
This is one of the best ways to exercise your mind!
You can choose to lose yourself in a fictional world, learn more about your own world or read the autobiography of someone you admire.
#5 Learn origami
Origami is a beautiful art and it’s super cheap!
All you need is paper… and this low-cost hobby can help you produce beautiful decorations for your home. It looks like it’s super difficult, but actually it’s quite easy if you know the tricks! Start with a simple one!
#6 Listen to podcasts
There are funny podcasts, educational ones and even scary podcasts!
The choices are endless, so whatever you’re interested in, it’s very likely there are podcasts about it. Search online and see if there are any that grab your attention, or… you can check out the SYOK app and try to listen to our original SYOKcasts!
These activities are only as expensive as you make them.
Whether you’re trying to save money or just want to try something new, it can be fun to find new and interesting ways to enjoy your downtime. Why not give these a try!
