5 Good Deeds You Can Do This Festive Season To Make Someone Cry Happy Tears

5 good deeds you can do this festive season to make someone cry happy tears

It’s the month of December, which also means that the festive season is here! Besides the food, drinks and presents we’ll be enjoying, we can also celebrate the spirit of giving by making a difference in someone’s life.

There are many things we can do for others in good nature. So if you’re looking for ways to make someone’s day this holiday, here are some meaningful examples:

#1 Entertain the children at an orphanage

It’s not difficult to find a children’s home around your vicinity. Most of us are fortunate enough to be born with food on the table, a roof over our heads and loving families. But we should also take the time to remember the children who were left alone at a young age.

This holiday, take some time off and visit an orphanage. You can either read a book, sing songs or play games with them to make them happy. Trust us, it’ll be the most fulfilling feeling ever.

#2 Spend time with the elderly at an old folks’ home

Besides children, there are also many older folks who’ve been abandoned by their families under various circumstances. These senior citizens often spend their days with very few things to do.

It’s good to visit an old folks’ home and spend some time talking to these wise ones. We’re sure that they’ve got plenty of stories to tell. If anything, you could at least help them feel like they have a son/daughter/grandchild for a few hours.

#3 Donate blood and save someone’s life

Did you know that one blood donation can potentially save up to three lives? Regardless of your blood type, the average hospital across Malaysia needs about 2,000 units blood each day. So let’s get over our fear of needles and blood, and help save someone’s life this holiday!

There are blood donation drives held from time to time, or you could head over to the National Blood Centre and any government hospital to donate blood. Remember, 10 minutes of your time could mean life and death for someone else.

#4 Serve food to the homeless

You must have heard of soup kitchens that take place weekly, bi-weekly and monthly. Some of us have a prejudiced opinion about the homeless because we think that they’re probably jobless and lazy. But if you actually take the time to get to know the homeless, most of them have circumstances in life they can’t avoid that drove them to losing a shelter.

It doesn’t hurt to listen to someone’s life story, so let’s help feed the homeless this season. Or better yet, cook for them!

#5 Help underprivileged school children

Now, there are many underprivileged children out there who can’t even afford basic school essentials like stationery and exercise books. Here’s one way to help them out—get a Beg Terus Senyum by Tesco.

The Beg Terus Senyum is a continuation of Tesco’s initiative which began with the Tesco School Adoption Programme partnership with PINTAR Foundation in 2016. The programme enables companies to adopt schools that are most in need, and fund various programmes and activities that can contribute to the holistic development of students.
