If you're planning to head back to your hometown by Electric Train Service (ETS) this Raya, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has some exciting news! They will be providing four additional ETS services on the KL Sentral–Butterworth and KL Sentral–Padang Besar routes (both ways).

According to a post on KTM Berhad’s official Facebook page, these extra services will be available on 28th and 30th March as well as 5th and 6th April—two days before and after Aidilfitri.

“These additional services will offer 1,254 seats daily, including business class options. In total, 5,016 seats will be available during this period to meet passenger demand.

“Tickets for the extra trains will go on sale from 10 a.m. on 20th March 2025,” KTMB announced.

The decision to add more services comes after tickets for the existing scheduled trains sold out quickly. With these additional services running from 28th March to 6th April, KTMB will offer a total of 12,600 seats to accommodate the festive rush.

Throughout this period, KTMB will operate 40 trains daily, providing a total of 117,996 seats to cater to the increased demand: “This is part of KTMB’s continuous effort to provide efficient, safe, and comfortable public transport while supporting the government’s agenda to strengthen the rail system as the preferred mode of mobility for Malaysians,” KTMB added.

KTMB advises passengers to purchase their tickets in advance to avoid last-minute availability issues.

Travellers are also encouraged to arrive at the station early to ensure a smooth documentation and entry process for a more comfortable journey.
