In case you didn’t already know, LEGO recently opened its first certified store in Malaysia at the newly-opened Mid Valley Southkey mall in Johor Bahru, and in it, you’ll find a unique replica of the historic Sultan Ibrahim Building, made entirely out of LEGO bricks!

It was made by Bruce Lee Chiau Han and Michael Choy Kum Weng, who came to know each other from the Synergy LEGO User Group where adults geek out over their own LEGO creations.

That’s right! LEGO truly is an excitement for all ages!

They chose to commemorate the Sultan Ibrahim Building, as it remains one of Johor’s most iconic landmarks, and what better way to celebrate the opening of the store?

Bruce took just two weeks to study the building’s structure, before he and Michael finished constructing the replica in six weeks, using 15,000 bricks!

Built between 1936 to 1939, the Sultan Ibrahim Building was used by the Japanese Imperial Army as a fortress and command centre to spy on activities of the British Army in Singapore.

It was then used as the state secretariat building, Chief Minister's office and the State Assembly Hall for 69 years until June 2009, before these offices were relocated to Kota Iskandar.

It was also the tallest building in Johor Bahru in the 1970s before taller buildings began to emerge.

How cool is this!
