5 Things Malaysians Are Looking Forward To Doing After The MCO

It’s been three weeks since the Movement Control Order (MCO) came into effect, and you’re probably either content with quarantine life, or BORED BEYOND COMPARE!

Most Malaysians can’t wait to get back into their daily carefree routines, and here are FIVE things Malaysians will definitely be getting to, once the MCO is finally lifted:

1. A good mamak catchup sesh with friends

Let’s face it, we miss our friends! But also, we miss the ever so convenient idea of meeting up with friends at the mamak to ‘lepak’ and just catch-up at any time of night. Not forgetting that roti canai and teh tarik just isn’t the same when you take-away, order-in or buy it frozen to make at home!

2. ROAD TRIP!

It’s pretty surreal to think that now, we can’t drive out more than 10km from our own homes! Many people miss taking long drives, whether it be for a holiday or just to clear your mind. And of course, a trip anywhere with friends and family is just long overdue!

3. Back to the gym

If you just got into a fitness groove, the MCO has probably put you off course from your goals. You can find just about any home workout that is to your liking and it’s important to keep yourself active during quarantine, but some of you just can’t wait to get back into that gym environment, so it won’t be a surprise that gyms are going to be packed after the MCO.

4. Self-pampering/grooming

Speaking of the gym, you’re probably not making an effort to look your best whilst staying at home. And why would you if there’s no one to look good for? Many Malaysians can’t wait to go get a haircut, a facial, or maybe even go for a full day at the spa, so best believe many of us will be wanting to feel fresh to get back to work.

5. Hit the malls!

Online sales have gone up a whopping 70% since the MCO started, but let’s be honest, many Malaysians miss the thrill of shopping at a mall. And while you’re there to buy clothes, others may be there just to ‘lepak’, but we know for a fact that malls will also be crowded after the MCO.

The MCO is currently set to end on April 14th, but there’s no telling if it’s going to be extended, so it’s best that we just continue to do our part to curb the spread of COVID-19. Stay at home, stay healthy, stay safe, and we’ll see each other real soon!
