1. Sungai Tekala

Located roughly 50km from Kuala Lumpur in the district of Hulu Langat, Sungai Tekala is the ideal getaway for chilling with friends and family or even a short camping trip. The place is equipped with facilities such as food stalls, prayer rooms, washrooms and gazebos for your comfort and convenience. The entrance fee is as low as RM 2 for adults and RM 1 for children. If you fancy an overnight trip, you can also rent a chalet at Sungai Tengkala or set up a tent at the campsite!

2. Kanching

Kanching Rainforest situated between Rawang and Kuala Lumpur is a popular spot for city people to relax and unwind. On the weekend, people can enjoy various activities such as camping, picnics, swimming and even jungle trekking. The trail for jungle trekkers is fairly easy for beginners and trekkers will be able to bask in the glory of seven beautiful waterfalls along their way while enjoying the many rare species of cheeky monkeys in their natural habitat. The entrance fee is only RM 1 per person, while another RM 2 will be imposed for the parking fee per car.

3. Lata Medang

The Lata Medang waterfall in Kampung Pertak, Kuala Kubu Bharu is adjacent to the Kampung Orang Asli, Kampung Pertak. Take time to enjoy the beautiful scenery of various plants and trees as you are only able to reach the waterfall by hiking. But fret not the trail is quite easy and not too challenging for beginners. The entrance fee is as low as RM 1 per person, on which the collection will be used to maintain the place.

4. Sungai Pisang Waterfall

If you are up for an adventure, head on over to the Sungai Pisang Waterfall situated along the Karak Highway. To reach the waterfall, you would have to start trekking from Jungle Lodge (situated along the old Gombak Road to Genting Highland). From then on, you will be crossing rivers, going through tunnels and even have to hike through a 100-year-old forest! But don’t worry, hikers will be rewarded with the tingly sensation of a fish spa at the end of their journey as the fishes in the river will bite off your dead skin from the soles of your feet.

5. Sungai Chiling

One of the most stunning and extraordinary waterfalls in Selangor is Sungai Chilling in Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor. Reaching the waterfall would require you to trek and walk for about an hour and for you to not mind getting yourself wet. The waterfall and river are a part of the Mahseer Fish Sanctuary managed by the Selangor Fisheries Department and Selangor Forestry Department.  While there are 3 levels to the Chiling waterfall, only the waterfall on level 1 is allowed to be accessed by the public as the two upper levels are off-limits.

The State of Selangor is home to many amazing and wonderful waterfalls that are easily accessible. Just remember to pick up after yourself before you leave the area to ensure the cleanliness and serenity of our waterfalls.
