With the rise of online shopping, gone are the days of shopping till you physically drop. Now, all you have to move to get your heart’s desire is your thumb.
Malaysians showed that they could be global thumb war champions, because within just the FIRST hour of September 9th, over 12 million items were sold on Shopee’s 9.9 Super Shopping Day.
We all know one of the big national hobbies in Malaysia is lepaking at shopping malls, and in the light of the new normal, Malaysians heartily participated in supporting Shopee’s 9.9 Super Shopping Day.
The Super Shopping Day was intended to be a springboard and spearhead for economic recovery.
Ian Ho, Regional Managing Director of Shopee said the strong support of consumers, sellers and brands during the annual shopping event resulted in a record-breaking performance peaking at 700,000 items sold in a single minute.
He hoped that the success of the event reflected Shopee’s commitment to help its communities emerge stronger following the impact of the global pandemic.
Naturally, with all the time spent at home during the MCO, Home & Living was one of the most popular product categories during the event. Laundry detergents may have been a hot favourite among women but everybody regardless of age, gender and race was united in their love for MILO.
And we definitely know a thing or two about passion for MILO...
