What may seem like a small act to some can mean everything to someone in need.
That message rang loud and clear after a Malaysian woman touched hearts across the nation by helping a blind elderly man navigate public transport during rush hour.

In a TikTok video that has since gone viral, a user known as @__nursyahadah shared her unexpected encounter with an elderly man, Uncle Thomas, at KL Sentral. Spotting him during the evening rush, she approached to check if he needed assistance and discovered he was trying to get to Wangsa Maju.
Although the destination was not on her route home, Nur Syahadah was concerned for Uncle Thomas’s safety in the busy station and made the decision to accompany him all the way to his stop. After travelling together, she even helped him into a taxi to ensure he could continue his journey safely.
According to the video caption, her kind gesture meant travelling across 18 stations before she could make her way home. Despite the long detour, she expressed no regret. Instead, she used the opportunity to encourage viewers to show kindness to others, no matter their circumstances.
“Treat people how you would want to be treated,” she wrote, reminding fellow Malaysians that empathy and compassion are things we can all afford to give.
