According to BERNAMA, Besut police chief, Supt Abdul Rozak Mohammad said that a man reported the incident after receiving a video of the dead cats at the resort area on WhatsApp at about 10:00 am on Sunday (March 6th).

“A total of 15 cats died,” he said in a statement. “Two cats were found alive, but were in pain.”

The complainant suspected that the animals were killed by an irresponsible individual, or a group of people.

The case is now being investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code, which provides up to three years in prison or a fine or both for individuals found guilty of harming or killing animals.
