Meanwhile in Germany, the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (the Hamburg transport association) is also making its own moves by changing the names of several bus stops and metro stations to include the names of warmer countries in an effort to raise awareness of climate change.
The Schlump metro station, located in Eimsbüttel, Hamburg has now been renamed to “Kuala Schlumpur” representing one of the warmest cities in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
In a Facebook post, HVV explained that this campaign aims to bring awareness towards climate protection in Hamburg, “Have you already noticed our renamed stops today? This is so that Hamburg could remain as the most beautiful city in the world,” they wrote.
