We all have that one teacher who left a lasting impression on us—someone who went beyond textbooks to shape our lives. For many students, that teacher was Mr Baljeet Singh.

In a touching TikTok video, Mr Baljeet shared a glimpse of his final lesson before retirement, writing: "A sad goodbye, this is me teaching Malay literature before retiring." But what made his farewell even more special was the outpouring of love from both current and former students.
The video not only captured heartfelt hugs but also sparked an emotional wave in the comments section, "You are still my best teacher. I was in your first class back in Tawau in 1991. We still love you, Mr Baljeet Singh."
One student recalled a moment of kindness: "Once, you invited me to your tuition class. I told you I couldn’t afford it, and you simply said to come but to keep it a secret. Happy retirement, sir. I am somebody now because of you."
Another shared words of wisdom that stuck with them: "I will never forget what you told us: 'It is always hard to start, but once you do, you can’t stop.'”
Mr Baljeet's retirement is a beautiful reminder of how teachers shape not just minds, but futures. Their lessons, encouragement, and kindness stay with us long after we leave the classroom.
