“Recurring Issue” PJ Shoppers Warned of Man Allegedly Asking for Cash in Parking Lot

Shoppers are being urged to stay alert after several reports emerged about a man targeting people in a shopping mall parking lot by persistently asking for RM100.

The warning first surfaced on Threads, when user @frznaisml shared her experience. She explained that the man goes from car to car, knocking on windows and approaching individuals with the same request for money.

“My husband and I were first approached by him months ago at the same O** C*** parking lot. He said he needed money to return to Johor. We refused and left,” she wrote.

When she returned to the mall recently, she witnessed the same man harassing other visitors. “I saw him knocking on the window of the car next to mine. The lady rejected him. After that, he went searching for another target and was turned down by two more women,” she added.

After seeing him approach a family as well, she decided to inform the Customer Service counter on Level 3. To her surprise, the staff seemed unfazed and admitted that the problem had been reported before. Although they said they would raise it again, she felt her concerns were brushed aside.

According to her, the man does not appear to be working alone. “It looks like a two-man operation. I told them security should at least patrol the area, but nothing was done.”

Other netizens voiced disappointment at how the issue has been handled. One remarked, “The shopping mall used to have canine patrols. Now they’ve scaled down operations.” Another commented, “It’s irresponsible for the mall not to act. This has gone on too many times, and it seems management is ignoring it.”

One shopper shared her own frightening encounter. She described how she ignored the man when he knocked on her car window and gestured “no” without opening her door.

“He became angry, started hitting my windows and even banged on the car hood. Then he walked off, pointing at me and signalling to his friend,” she said. The incident left her so shaken that she cancelled her plans and searched for a guard to accompany her while paying for her parking.

With more people speaking up, many now hope that mall security will take stronger measures before the situation escalates further.
