No Graduation During The Restricted Movement Order? No Problem!

Graduation Day is possibly the single most important day in a young adult’s life. All those late-nights and tears were all worth it when their names are called to the stage to receive their certificates of graduation.

That being said, with the nation being under the Movement Control Order, graduates are attending their graduations online with their emoji friends, just to celebrate their lifetime achievement!

This young brother was sad that his sister couldn’t attend her graduation ceremony at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UITM) and decided that he can do one better with an ‘e-convo’!

Attended by all her emoji friends and faculty members, the graduation ceremony even had the sound of ‘caklempong’ usually played during graduation ceremonies in Malaysian universities. When her name was called, the space bar function was used to move the emoji graduate up the stage, to then receive an emoji scroll!

Applause followed when the brother listed all of his sister’s achievements including her success in feeding all the cats around the university campus!

The video posted on Twitter gained more than 50K retweets and has inspired others to attend their own online graduation ceremony too!

… and who says a graduation ceremony is the only event you can recreate online? What about a student appointment ceremony?

These videos certainly provided some laughs to us and to the Twittverse who can’t help but to celebrate with the graduates.

Congratulations fellow graduates! We hope you could attend a physical ceremony once the pandemic is over- for now, stay safe!
