Malaysia’s rich tapestry of cultures is something we can all take pride in. Our unique blend of traditions, languages, and customs isn’t just for us to enjoy—it’s something we love sharing with the world, especially with foreigners who marvel at our diversity.
Whether through food, festivals, or music, Malaysians always find creative ways to showcase what makes our country so special.
Recently, a group of classical musicians took this spirit of sharing to the next level by delivering a live performance on an MRT train headed to Kajang. The musicians were on their way to the Enjoy Kajang event when they decided to treat fellow passengers to an impromptu concert, filling the train with the sounds of traditional Malaysian music.
Dressed in traditional attire, the talented group played a mix of instruments, including the violin, several rebates, and an accordion. Their performance not only showcased Malaysia’s musical heritage but also turned an ordinary commute into a memorable cultural experience.
The performance was part of RapidKL’s promotional efforts for the Enjoy Kajang event, which highlighted this group alongside many other attractions. The event aimed to encourage more people to explore Kajang and immerse themselves in its vibrant culture.
Netizens were quick to express their appreciation for the performance. One person commented, “This is a stress reliever for people coming back from work.” Another added, “I hope this group will make their way to Bukit Bintang too.” Many even suggested expanding such performances to LRTs, with one user saying, “Please make this performance available on LRTs too.”
It’s heartening to see such creative initiatives that not only brighten up everyday routines but also promote our cultural heritage. What do you think? Would you enjoy more live performances on public transport?
